Stevie Wonder brought by Trijntje Oosterhuis

Trijntje Oosterhuis’ new album ‘Love’s in Need of Love Today’, an ode to Stevie Wonder was released today.

Together with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, she recorded the live album in the Artone Studio in Haarlem. It is a live-to-disc recording, which means that the recording was printed on vinyl immediately, without the use of tape or a digital recording. The result is a pure, unedited record without any edits afterwards. In Trijntje’s eyes, the best way to honour her childhood hero Stevie Wonder and his iconic album ‘Songs in the Key of Life’.

Trijntje: “More than 30 years after my first meeting with Stevie Wonder, I decided to honour and celebrate the work of my childhood hero, surrounded by the best musicians. In the most pure and honest way: a live recording, printed on vinyl, in one take. No edits, no second chances… The result is a real and vulnerable recording of a selection of Stevie Wonder’s legendary work.”

To celebrate the release of her new album, Trijntje is touring right now, with performances in clubs and theatres across The NEtherlands. Tickets are available on her own website.
