Robin Kester is back with her new album ‘Dark Sky Reverse’

After her brutally honest debut album ‘Honeycomb Shades’, about her father’s cancer diagnosis and the relatively early death of her uncle, she releases her second LP today.

The album was recorded in Bristol, the first time recording abroad for the Dutch alt-rock specialist. It afforded the musician artistic clarity she has not experienced before, with her partnership alongside esteemed producer Ali Chant (PJ Harvey, Perfume Genius, Yard Act) proving incredibly inspiring.

Kester’s debut album, ‘Honeycomb Shades’, was a huge success, being named Dutch album of the year by NRC and de Volkskrant. She now returns with her new album via a new label, Memphis Industries. It is a soundtrack to all the thoughts that bubble to the surface once the silence sinks in. It is her most artistically record to date.

Craving out her unique sound that is minimalist, yet gorgeously rich and warm, Kester’s influence from the like of Talk Talk, Portishead, Air and PJ Harvey can be seen throughout her new material and is now officially yours.
