Newton Faulkner shows his new side with new album ‘OCTOPUS’

After not releasing new music for five years, Newton Faulkner is back with his eight studio album ‘OCTOPUS’, his first with Cooking Vinyl Records.

‘OCTOPUS’ represent the longest gap between albums in Faulkner’s career, providing him time to explore new creative directions. Working from his home studio in east London, Faulkner approached songwriting from fresh perspectives, incorporating diverse sonic elements throughout the album.

With this new album, a new chapter starts for Newton Faulkner. The new chapter started in November 2024, when he cut his iconic ginger dreadlocks during the finale of his tour at London’s Islington Assembly Hall. “I felt like my hair was tying me to the past” he explains. “This is about letting go, there is no part of this records that is trying to recreate anywhere I’ve been before, however well it might have gone. This is me, this is my head, this is what I love.”

As part of the new album campaign a series of collector’s edition CDs and vinyl have been made available to pre-order. Each edition features exclusive, one-of-a-kind artwork created especially for this project, making them a must-have for fans and collectors alike.

Next month, Faulkner will start touring through the UK and later will be performing in a few European cities.
