New album from power-trio Glyders

Glyders engage their new power-trio formation with a proper full band album, ‘Forever’. The new album is out now.

Guitarist/vocalist Joshua Condon and bassist Eliza Weber started up in 2014, but even when they put together their 2023 album debut, they still had a revolving door on the drums. Then they met Joe Seger, who fit on the kit like a glove and in their sound like a brother. Since then, the three have ridden together, building up ‘Forever’ while playing shows all around the US and Europe.

Glyders’ hard-slap the boogie with their lead single ‘Stone Shadow’, which they released earlier. The song is a relentless rocker guaranteed to let the house party loose. At this hot tempo, Josh singing “Ain’t got no money, I just wanna have a ball” is a high-living war whoop, while “It’s time to realize, I’m in it for the rest of my life”brings some hard steel to the stage. Shimmying synths and a wire-taut guitar break the song through the fog of reality.

‘Forever’ was taped at Glyders’ own Studio ‘G’ in Chicago’s Humboldt Park, with Josh getting the sounds they like, then mixed by Cooper Crain at Sweat Loge Studios down in Pilsen. The title comes from a battle cry withing the band, Eliza’s cover art emphasizes this ‘for life’ credo, mixing classic roots with punk collage style drawn from years of flyers. It’s like a family/club vibe, the kind of thing you get tattooed into your skin. ‘Forever’ is just getting started.
