FRIDAY Releases Their New Album ‘Magic’

The Dutch indie-rock duo’s third album is released today via V2 Records. The release show will take place on October 7 at Paradiso in Amsterdam.

FRIDAY is the indie project of childhood friends Koen and Quinten. Their previous albums were melodic and light, driven by friendship and a sense of freedom. With major labels, they achieved nationwide success: from twice landing the Top Song spot on NPO Radio 2 to over 15 million Spotify streams and sold-out live shows—but in the process, their spontaneity and honesty took a back seat.

Their third album, “Magic,” is their response: darker, rawer, and deliberately less polished—a collection of songs about escape, disillusionment, and the search for meaning in a world that feels as boundless as it does suffocating.

For this album, FRIDAY collaborated with Yoshi Breen (RONDE, Martin Garrix, Snoop Dogg). Live recordings with the full band laid the foundation, after which producer Niels Zuiderhoek (Di-rect, Kensington, Ilse de Lange) further shaped the songs in Berlin. The result is more direct, layered, and honest than ever.
