With his second album ‘Dingen Die Ik Gauw Vergeet’, Igor pays tribute to human haziness.

After Igor scored high marks with his debut album ‘Kind Aan Zee’, he created a new world to disappear into and understand his own haziness with the album ‘Dingen Die Ik Gauw Vergeet’. Igor proves himself once again to be a musical jack-of-all-trades by drawing inspiration from different musical styles and expressing himself in his own unique way, resulting in a diverse album full of reflection.

Igor's second album, “Dingen Die Ik Gauw Vergeet”, will be released on 15 May, but his second single, “We Slapen In De Lucht”, is already available to listen to from today.

What if you tend to forget things easily? Rapper, singer and producer Igor speaks from experience, writing in his new album about his own haziness, but also about its beauty and challenges. How overstimulation from social media, going out and overworking can reinforce this haziness, but also how you can lose yourself in its abstraction, causing you to lose sight of your loved ones and responsibilities. In this introspective album, Igor confronts himself with this sense of responsibility and writes a letter of appreciation to everything he has taken too much for granted. This culminates in the album's conclusion: true responsibility can only be borne from intrinsic values, with love for, from and towards the people around you.

The new single ‘We Slapen In De Lucht’ builds on Igor’s world and is an ode to the dreamer. For those who struggle to stay focused and find it difficult to fit in with a group. To a hip-hop bossa groove, Igor raps about his dreams and the absurdity of social life.

Igor drew musical inspiration from his ambitions to further develop himself as an artist. Although he already does this by combining hip hop, jazz, classical, soul and cabaret in his studio, for this album he drew inspiration from, among others, the electronic Squarepusher, hip hop by J Dilla, bossa nova founder João Gilberto and from Tyler's Chromakopia to Stevie Wonder.

‘I am very curious about different types of music and try to listen to them as much as possible. When I am really into a particular album or playing style, I want to recreate that atmosphere in my own music. It actually happens very organically.’

The album “dingen die ik gauw vergeet” will be released on 15 may 2026 via V2 Records.
