Wet Leg wins two Grammy’s and establish themselves as alternative sensation

Wet Leg has just become the double GRAMMY-winning Wet Leg at the 65th Annual GRAMMY ® Awards in Los Angeles, scooping Best Alternative Album for their self-titled debut and Best Alternative Music Performance for their debut single “Chaise Longue”.

The two Grammy's are the first wins and nominations, for duo Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers. On collecting their awards, Rhian Teasdale remarked “This is so funny. What are we doing here? This year has been so surprising, starting this band has been such a surprise and being on the road. We couldn’t have done it without our amazing crew.”  Drummer Henry Holmes added “This is just a magical evening.”

On Saturday 11th of February, Wet Leg will perform at the televised BRIT Awards 2023 where they are also nominated for four awards: Group of the Year, Best New Artist, Mastercard Album of the Year and Best Rock/Alternative Act.

Wet Leg’s self-titled project was released by Domino in April and quickly became one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2022. Debut single “Chaise Longue” was followed by a string of impressive hits, including “Wet Dream” and “Ur Mum.” The band’s promotion of the album saw them become a late night favourite, with performances on Late Night with Seth Meyers,The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Later With… Jools Holland and a very early booking on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert. Wet Leg debuted at #1 in the UK and Australia and at #14 on the US Billboard 200 Album Chart.

Later this year, Wet Leg will play Coachella, Reading & Leeds Festival and are the special guests of Pulp at their comeback gig in London’s Finsbury Park. Having kicked off their extensive tour support for Harry Styles in North America last week, they will now head to Australia and New Zealand with Styles plus play their first ever shows in Japan and Mexico.
