Trijntje Oosterhuis honours Stevie Wonder with new album and tour
Dutch singer Trijntje Oosterhuis announces her new album ‘Love’s in Need of Love Today’, an ode to the legendary Stevie Wonder, recorded together with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw.
The album is not just a live album, but is live-to-disc recorded and was recorded in the Artone Studio in Haarlem. she honours her childhood hero Stevie Wonder and his iconic album ‘Songs in the Key of Life’, which will turn 50 years old this year.
Live-to-disc is a recording technique where the music is being printed on vinyl during the performance, without using tape or a digital recording, resulting in a pure, unedited record without any edits afterwards. A beautiful recording with a rooom filled with talented musicians and an ode to Stevie Wonder.
‘Love’s in Need of Love Today’ is a collection of songs that celebrate Stevie Wonder’s timeless music. The collaboration with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw offers an unique big band experience that enhances the emotion and depth of the songs.
The album will be released on September 19 but the first single ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ is already available. The release of the new album will be celebrated by a tour with performances in clubs and theatres across The Netherlands.
