Superorganism are Woofin' and Meowin'

Last Monday, animated TV show HouseBroken aired its holiday episodes with a special new theme song by none other than Superorganism. The track, 'Woofin’ & Meowin’ is an exuberant slice of holiday joy, short, sweet and packed with the fun that we’ve come to expect from the quintet.

Superorganism’s Harry said of the working on the song: “We were so stoked when Housebroken approached us to write a song for their holiday specials. We all love the show, and considering some cartoon themes and soundtracks shaped our childhoods and ultimately our tastes, it was super inspiring to get involved. We wrote Woofin' and Meowin' immediately before we set off on our first tour since the pandemic, and I think you can feel that anxiety and excitement bubbling over. To me, it sounds like the excitement my family dog felt, reflecting our excitement as kids on Christmas day. Poor little fella had no idea why we were all so hyped up, but he just enjoyed the moment and got excited with us anyway.”

Fox’s HouseBroken takes an irreverent look at human behavior through the lens of animals whose search for meaning often takes them on wild adventures, far away from the cushy confines of domestic pet life. The series stars Lisa Kudrow, Tony Hale, Will Forte, Jason Mantzoukas, Sam Richardson, Clea DuVall and Sharon Horgan.

Superorganism recently released their stellar second album World Wide Pop, the album brought in an international set of collaborators including Stephen MalkmusCHAIStuart PricePi Ja MaDylan Cartlidge as well as legendary musician and actor Gen Hoshino.

Striking a balance between artifice and earnestness, between sci-fi silliness and existential intensity, World Wide Pop was a showcase for Superorganism’s newly deepened understanding of each other’s interests and impulses. And came loaded with bangers too.
