Nona's earlier work is characterised by a fuller, more produced sound, but now she has consciously opted for real instruments, warmth and space. The new record is more organic. It is a mix of the liveliness of her debut and the personal depth of her second album, but with a newfound maturity. In her third album, “Letters to my Habits”, her musical development comes to fruition, incorporating her experiences and insights from recent years.
The album was recorded entirely in producer Gordon Groothedde's studio. There, Nona, Groothedde and singer and good friend Loren spent nine months working on new music. Both played an important role in the creation of the album. The collaboration goes beyond professional chemistry; it is a close friendship that enables the intimacy and honesty in the music. The use of live instrumentation was essential to create the desired authentic sound. Without the live elements, the album would not have had the same emotional power and the music would not have sounded so pure and sincere.
"You can hear the instruments. And you can hear me."
the album is available to pre-save and pre-order now.
