Nambyar finds his ‘Remedy’

Nambyar, the solo project of Jesse Nambiar, releases his brand-new album ‘Remedy’ today. to celebrate this release, he will also be playing his releaseshow in Melkweg on October 10. Jesse’s music dives deep into themes of depression, anxiety, and vulnerability, always underpinned by a message of hope.

This album marks a new chapter in Jesse’s musical journey, which began when he was just 21 as a member of the pop band Valerius. With Valerius, he scored a no. 1 hit in Indonesia and released two albums before embarking on a solo career. Jesse’s debut album as Nambyar, ‘How Would It Feel’, offered an intimate glimpse into Jesse’s life, touching on themes of love, fatherhood, and personal change.

In recent years, Jesse has sought simplicity and authenticity in his music, elements that now form the foundation of his second studio album. Created in collaborations with producer Thijs van der Klugt, ‘Remedy’ took shape during a turbulent time, as Jesse went through a breakup and became a father. ‘Waste’, written in a session with Thijs, reignited his inspiration and planted the seed for the new record. This moment marked a fresh start and a return to the organic sound he had long been aiming for.

With ‘Remedy’, Jesse hopes listeners will embrace the beauty and complexity of life, its emotions, doubts, and joy. He wants his music to encourage openness around topics like depression and anxiety, reminding us that it’s okay to talk about them. Ultimately, he aims to offer a sense of comfort and recognition, a soundtrack for the journey we’re all on.
