With his second album ‘Dingen Die Ik Gauw Vergeet’, Igor pays tribute to human vagueness

Having already made a big impression with his debut album ‘Kind Aan Zee’, Igor creates a new world to lose oneself in and to understand his own sense of disorientation with the album ‘Dingen Die Ik Gauw Vergeet’.

Igor once again proves himself to be a musical jack-of-all-trades by drawing inspiration from various musical styles and expressing himself in his own unique way, resulting in a diverse album full of reflection.

What if you tend to forget things easily? Rapper, singer and producer Igor speaks from experience, and in his new album he writes about his own mental fog, as well as its beauty and the challenges it presents. He explores how the sensory overload of social media, a busy social life and overwork can intensify this fog, but also how one can lose oneself in its abstraction, causing one to lose sight of loved ones and responsibilities. In this introspective album, Igor confronts himself with this sense of responsibility and writes a letter of appreciation to everything he has taken for granted. This culminates in the album’s conclusion: true responsibility can only be born from intrinsic values, with love for, from and towards the people around you.

Together with Job Wolters, Igor has created three short videos that bring the world of his album to life visually. Serving as preludes to the record, they depict a dreamy character who struggles to navigate life. Whilst the character in the videos seeks a solution from the outside world, on the record Igor looks for solutions and reflections within his own inner world.

Verdrinken In De Stad’ is the lead single from Igor’s upcoming album ‘Dingen Die Ik Gauw Vergeet’. In the track, Igor raps about the absurdity of fast-paced city life. Over a psychedelic hip-hop beat (reminiscent of a track from Lil Yachty’s ‘Let’s Start Here’), he describes how the city constantly draws us towards escape routes in the quest for quick happiness. In its pubs and clubs, but also in its spending habits, ambition and the desire for quick money. While we freeze in a sea of possibilities and dream of our goals, life flashes past us. And the city’s cogs keep turning.
