This second volume more than ever affirms the central place of the Trumpets of Michel-Ange: an ensemble of professiinitiative aimed at makinonal trumpet players trained and brought together around Ibrahim Maalouf thanks to a broad educational g the quarter-tone trumpet, created by his father in the 1960s, accessible. By making available a range of instruments identical to the trumpet he uses himself, and also through an academy associated with his concerts and recordings, this project enables musicians from around the world to access the same musical language. Where the first album embodied a founding act, “TRUMPETS OF MICHEL-ANGE VOL. 2” stands as a passing of the torch, consecrating the emergence of an ensemble that is now fully an actor almost autonomous carried by a strong collective sonic identity.

Still guided by the philosophy of transmission that has driven Ibrahim Maalouf since his beginnings, the album “TRUMPETS OF MICHEL-ANGE VOL. 2” deepens the artistic exploration of the quarter-tone trumpet, which has become the symbol of an open, accessible, and universal musical language. Today, the Trumpets of Michel-Ange are no longer only the heirs of a body of knowledge: they are its bearers, its performers, and its creators. “TRUMPETS OF MICHEL-ANGE was born as a dream of sharing and transmission. Today, this dream takes on a new dimension: seeing these musicians express themselves together, free themselves, and carry this music on their own is the project’s most precious fulfillment,” explains Ibrahim Maalouf.
