The follow-up to 2019’s 'VOL. 4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR,' HEALTH’s fifth album is the most violent yet vulnerable of their career. It is somehow fitting that such a brutal collection of songs is at the same time their most comprehensive artistic statement.
True to form, HEALTH has not just dropped an album; they're embarking on a 2024 headlining U.S. tour starting March 2nd in Ventura, CA. The tour includes noteworthy stops at Brooklyn Steel on March 15th and LA’s Belasco Theater on April 4th. And, following a mind-blowing performance at Roadburn 2022, Health will return to Tilburg to bring their distinctive sound and unparalleled energy back to the festival – this time on the main stage.
Produced by Stint (known for his work with Oliver Tree, Demi Lovato) and mixed by Lars Stalfors (SALEM, The Neighbourhood), 'RAT WARS' is a 12-track LP that boldly embraces a blend of metal, electronic, and pop music. Drawing inspiration from heavy acts like Nine Inch Nails and Ministry, the album is a testament to HEALTH's commitment to redefining the borders of contemporary music.
The band's fearless exploration of chaotic yet reinvigorating themes during the pandemic years has culminated in 'RAT WARS.' Written during what they describe as the most emotionally trying period of their career, the album captures the fury and ambition that has defined their previous works while making a bold statement on the insanity and insipidness of contemporary life.
HEALTH's long and unconventional career arc has led them to a point where they are undeniably comfortable with their own discomfort.
