Douwe Bob announces new album ‘OUTCAST TOWN’

Douwe Bob, the award-winning singer-songwriter, announces the release of his seventh studio album “OUTCAST TOWN.” The album will be released on April 17, 2026 on his own label Breaking Records in collaboration with V2. The album title is an abbreviation of the title track “Welcome To Outcast Town,” which ironically stands as an “outcast” among the other songs.

“OUTCAST TOWN” is a deeply personal album and alternates sensitive songs like “Angel Child” and “Photographs” with the uptempo “With You” and bombastic tracks such as “Wanna Be Free” and “Welcome To Outcast Town,” in the style of the hit single “This World Is Our Home.” The album invites listeners to reflect on what is truly valuable in life. “Life is short, be mindful of the time we have. Enjoy the people around you,” says Douwe Bob. Important themes on the album include freedom, ambition and the struggle against addiction, along with the ongoing search for adventure amid a stable family life.

Like his previous successful album “Where Did All The Cool Kids Go?” (2024), “OUTCAST TOWN” was produced by Gordon Groothedde (Willie Nelson, Golden Earring, Maan and others). Most of the songs were written in collaboration with “partner in crime” Stijn Van Dalen and Groothedde, while tracks such as “Benny,” “Tender Touch” and “My Place” were created in the country music city of Nashville in collaboration with other artists.

Douwe Bob is a walking collection of contrasts: from daredevil to bohemian, from rocker to poet. His versatility and energetic personality shine through strongly on this new album. After the rootsy Americana album “Born To Win Born To Lose” (2021), the pop record “Where Did All The Cool Kids Go?” (2024), which includes hits such as “This World Is Our Home” and “Nothing To Lose,” and the live album “I Believe In Fairy Tales” (2025), which captures his sold-out theatre tour, Douwe Bob is ready to surprise his fans once again.

With an impressive track record that includes winning the first edition of De Beste Singer-Songwriter van Nederland in 2012 and representing the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016, Douwe Bob continues to evolve. And not only musically, but also with projects such as his cookbook “VUUR.” He has won several awards, including two 3FM Awards, a BUMA Award and three Edison Awards. In 2023 he celebrated his 10-year anniversary and appeared on the popular TV show De Beste Zangers. He also remains a frequent presence on the live stage with sold-out club and theatre tours of his own, including The Story Of Country evening at the Concertgebouw, as well as appearances at Beste Zangers – Live (Ahoy), De Vrienden van Amstel (Ziggo Dome) and Qmusic Top 40 Live (Ahoy).
