Vocalist Corey Glover (Living Colour) has teamed up with guitarist Mike Orlando (Adrenaline Mob) to form Sonic Universe. As the lead-singer of the Grammy-winning band Living Colour (hailed by Rolling Stone as the “original funk metal pioneers”) Corey Glover has proven himself to be one of the most iconic voices of his generation. With this new sonic adventure, Corey has joined forces with guitarist Mike Orlando from Adrenaline Mob, a band that’s seen the likes of Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) and A.J. Pero (Twisted Sister) in its lineup. Filling the rhythm section, Corey and Mike are backed up by Booker King on bass, who has travelled the planet and laid down the groove for stellar talents ranging from Paul Simon to Kelis to Carlos Santana, and Taykwuan Jackson on the drums, who changed the landscape of NYC hardcore with metallic crossover thrash outfit Sworn Enemy.

The band has signed a worldwide deal with earMUSIC for their debut album “It Is What It Is” scheduled for release on May 10th. The 10-song album was produced, engineered, and mixed by Mike Orlando at Sonic Stomp Studios. The first taste of the album, the lead single ‘I Am’ premiered yesterday with a spectacular video directed by Tom Flynn (whose credits include videos for Lamb of God and Buckcherry) and shot in Toms River, NJ.
