Bitchin Bajas discovering ‘Inland See’
With every successive Bitchin Bajas release, the real key for them is a sense of discovery. THAt tingle that comes when you feel something breaking through, the sky opening up. The stuff that fills ‘Inland See’, their new album, holds you powerfully. As if you are floating, saltwater or helium-wise, effortless, elemental.
The music was mostly written on the road, an unusual happening for Bitchin Bajas. The album was recorded at Electrical Audio. Recording all together in the room there lent a sense of space, which they dug and captured as natural as possible. No reverb at alle added after the fact. Once ‘Inland See’ is flowing towards you, through the hi-fi, you feel it all in the air.
The Chicago trio Bitchin Bajas make hypnotic instrumental music with a delicate balance of synthesizer and non-electronic instruments. The group’s sound grew slowly as their discography expanded to include both casual recordings and more ambitious studio creations.
