Today, Brisbane indie-folk duo Hollow Coves unveil the new single 'Purple'. Brimming with warm energy and soaring melodies, Ryan Henderson and Matt Cairns serve up a passionate tale of blossoming love enveloped in tender harmonies and expansive instrumentals.
'Purple' was inspired by a pivotal moment in band member Matt's relationship with his now wife. Matt says, "One afternoon, early in our relationship, we sat beside a lighthouse on Fingal Headl and and put everything on the table. It was the first time being completely vulnerable with each other and it opened a door to a whole new dimension in our relationship. It was in that moment that I realized that this was the girl that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. That place will forever hold a special place in our hearts."

A dynamic indie folk group brimming with their passion for travel and observing different shades of the world, Hollow Coves first caught attention with their debut EP Wanderlust (2017) followed by their 2019 debut full-length Moments, whose songs were inspired by reflecting on a variety of moments and unforgettable shared experiences in their lives and the lives of those around them. They have since garnered more than 285 million streams, over 100 million views on YouTube and praise from the likes of Billboard, Clash, Sunday Times, Ones To Watch and more.
Earlier this year, they shared their new EP 'Blessings'. Written and recorded in their home studio on the Gold Coast, the EP came together during a time where togetherness felt far away. As the world paused and isolation became reality, Ryan and Matt turned inward, finding truths and stories in their respectivepasts and putting them to song. From the emotional weight of “Evermore” to the horror story of a night gone wrong in “From the Second Floor,” Hollow Coves explore new territory, writing from a place of solitude for the first time.
