Rare Akuma shares new Single ‘Wabbajack’

Rare Akuma, the young rapper and producer from Antwerp with fans from America  to all over Europe, shares ‘Wabbajack’, a very personal, energetic song. Wabbajack is the first single of an upcoming album “dirtytwominus”, expected in 2022.

About ‘Wabbajack’, Rare Akuma shares: “I'm a very bad person with words in general. I like to say I’m a nice guy, but my lack of communicative skills gives people the impression I’m not. This song is about my self-image, Antwerp where I was raised in, and the people within that city. A fraction of what goes on in my mind. Not all the dots always connect. but do they have to?

Rare Akuma, a.k.a. Shyheim Newell, scores with millions of streams as the new kid on the block. Genius melodies and hooks. Sometimes with honest emotions and then again with those beats that characterize Akuma. He produced some tracks for Zwangere Guy, made instrumentals (at 19 year old) for $uicideboy$ (and many others) and organized Hellraiser phase I and II in Antwerp with everything the Antwerp hiphop scene has to offer. Hellraiser is coming back with phase III on 9 October 2021, again in Trix where he was Artist in residence.

“In my eyes, the future of Belgian punk-hiphop. He produced on both my last records, and is super strong in that regard. (...) The sound he makes on his own records is of an unseen calibre and an unheard sound. Akuma, you're weird. It's in the name, isn't it? A legend already.”Zwangere Guy

“Rare Akuma is a musical genius and has established himself as one of the hottest rappers and producers of Belgium. His incomparable approach to trap, hip hop, and rage core has put him on the map and he’s ready to get even bigger” - Enfnts Terribles

“He will end up where he wants to end up in any case. He is going to be really big.” - Dvtch Norris

“The Antwerp producer-rapper made a name for himself on the hip-hop scene with his gritty, industrial horrorcore productions.”De Morgen

“Imagine the music of this young Antwerp-based producer as what would happen when you put Slipknot, Kanye West and Lunice in the same studio. (…) his beats – mostly including brutal basslines and screaming rappers - are not for the faint-hearted.”Red Bull Elektropedia
