Kids With Buns release their brand-new single ‘daughter’, which is taken from their upcoming debut album, expected to release this fall. Amber and Marie also announce their accompanying release concert at De Helling in Utrecht on the 14th of December.
‘Daughter’ serves as a narrative sequel to their breakout hit ‘bad grades’. A song about the difficult relationship with the continuous expectations of the people close to you, that you just can’t seem to fulfill even when you thought you had your shit together. It’s Kids With Buns in its purest form, androgynous vocals surrounded by catchy yet intricate guitar parts, but with an extra shot of up-tempo adrenaline that crystallizes in an anthemic chorus composed of things you wish you would have said.
Kids With Buns is a bedroom indie pop project, pushing the boundaries musically and thematically. Digging deep into their psyche and personal experiences, the young artists meticulously transform their honest feelings into music. Where their two minds collide, their music takes shape. A melancholic micro universe takes shape when their pure yet distinctive guitars merge together with the androgynous voice of Marie and the silky tones of Amber.
They released their debut EP 'Waiting Room' on April 15th 2022. With this EP, Kids With Buns toured Belgium with shows in Ancienne Belgique, Vooruit, Trix and Het Depot. In The Netherlands they played supports for Balthazar and Eefje De Visser and had solo shows in Rotown (Rotterdam), Ekko (Utrecht), Merleyn (Nijmegen), Muziekgieterij (Maastricht) and Altstadt (Eindhoven). They also played at Eurosonic Noorderslag last January.
