New music video ft. Game of Thrones star Leigh Gill
You Me At Six return with their explosive new single ‘MAKEMEFEELALIVE’, out now via Underdog Records/AWAL alongside a macabre split-screen music video featuring a cameo from Game of Thrones and The Joker star, Leigh Gill.
‘MAKEMEFEELALIVE’ marks the start of an exciting new chapter for You Me At Six. Packed with angst, fusing punk rock energy with raucous breakbeats, it’s a daring sonic statement and vital first glimpse of the band’s fast-approaching seventh full-length album.
Speaking about the track, lead vocalist Josh Franceschi explains, “This song is about having control, it being taken away from you and then finally reclaiming it. The video is all about the notion of needing to see clearly to feel alive. The desire of understanding where you started, and where you’re going, so you know when you get there.”
A split-screen POV video, directed by Boucher & Gee, serves a chilling visual match to the track’s emotional heft. The eerie clip, which was filmed in one continuous take, also features a cameo from actor Leigh Gill as Franceschi is caught in a late-night altercation, forced to fight for restitution.
You Me At Six are one of the biggest and most prolific British rock bands of the 21st Century. The band’s 15 year career has seen four UK Gold Records and five Top Ten Albums in the UK, including Number One record ‘Cavalier Youth’, an unparalleled 17 consecutive A-List singles on BBC Radio One, multiple sold-out US headline tours, a Number One rock song in the UK & Australia, and Top Five Rock Radio track in North America, in ‘Room To Breathe’.
2018 UK Top 6 album, ‘VI’ saw the band “rip up the rule book, disco-dip their basslines and record a sixth album shot through with fun”, according to the Sunday Times Culture. Elsewhere Q Magazine applauded their “new pop-friendly sensibility” where Kerrang! declared “the sound of a band who are wide awake once again”.
The summer of 2019 saw You Me At Six play their biggest outdoor headline show to date infront of 15,000 fans at a sold-out Gunnersbury Park for Gunnersville Festival. Their most recent UK tour saw 40,000 ticket sales, including three nights at Brixton Academy, selling-out four months in advance in just twenty minutes.
