Vérité announces sophomore album New Skin and shares first track Ocean

Singer, songwriter Vérité announces her sophomore album New Skin set for release on October 25th. In conjunction, she is releasing Ocean off the upcoming project today!

Vérité said about the meaning behind the album, 'I wrote and produced these songs bouncing between studios in Nashville and Los Angeles and my kitchen table in New York. New Skin is about the middle. It’s the messy and uncomfortable and mundane reality of being in relationship that I feel like no one talks about. It’s about the nuance of love in all of its unflattering angles and complexity. This record is my internal dialogue from the last two years trying to find meaning while loving someone the best I could. This record is about commitment. I’m so stoked to finally announce this project and can’t wait for it to be released.'

Vérité recently debuted Gone, her first single in two years. Co-written and produced by singer-songwriter Madi Diaz and Konrad Snyder, the song reintroduced the musician, capturing the devastating effects of something ending. Carried by haunting crescendos and Vérité’s powerhouse vocals, the track sees the singer pleading for time to stand still for a little while longer before her world turns upside down. The video features stunning visuals with the backdrop of Ojai, CA and was directed by Charlie Manton. Vérité’s track Youth followed last month as the second track released off of the album. The song was written by the artist in collaboration with Andrew Maury (Lewis Del Mar, Shawn Mendes, RAC) and Zach Nicita (Anne-Marie, Louis The Child, MS MR), who also produced.

Following the release of her 2017 LP Somewhere In Between, Vérité has become the definition of thriving in the new music industry as an independent artist. Since her project began, Vérité has garnered 250M+ streams across all platforms with 1.4+ monthly listeners. Her debut album has over 50M streams, while her cover of The 1975’s Somebody Else has been streamed 111M times.
