Oneohtrix Point Never video 'Long Road Home' now online

New album out October 30 on Warp Records

Oneohtrix Point Never recently announced the October 30th arrival of new studio album, Magic Oneohtrix Point Never, with a preview of his first new music since 2018’s critically lauded Age Of and 2019’s Uncut Gems soundtrack. The opening trilogy of songs, aptly named “Drive Time Suite”, spotlight OPN’s incredible propensity for maximalist detail but here with a refreshingly earnest and enlightened approach.“Cross Talk I,” “Auto & Allo,” and the first single  “Long Road Home”, featuring vocal contributions from Caroline Polachek, bounce between Daniel Lopatin’s singing over pastiched found sound and glitchy atmospheric cogitation.

Today, OPN shares the new video for “Long Road Home”, co-directed by the cross-Atlantic creative duo of Charlie Fox (UK) and Emily Schubert (US). The perfectly paired visual plays voyeur to seemingly sinister and otherworldly creatures as they become romantically entangled. The courtship dances wildly between basic human emotion and erotic dark humor, making fantasy and reality one and the same.

‘It’s a romantic fable about love and transformation, which grew out of a lot of wild philosophical conversations with Dan over the summer. We wanted to take these supposedly grotesque or demonic creatures and turn them into the weirdly adorable and heartbreaking protagonists of this courtship ritual. For a song that seems to be sung by something mutant and magical in a time when intimacy is craved and feared, it felt like a hot match; it just felt good inside. And all this stuff started oozing out.’
