Gerry Cinnamon shared brand new single 'Sun Queen'

Huge UK and Ireland Arena tour commences next month All 125.000 tickets are already sold-out

He’s a cult sensation with the command of a rapidly growing legion of fans, but Gerry Cinnamon is enjoying levels of success only normally associated with huge household names.

His self-released debut album ‘Erratic Cinematic’ recently rocketed back to the top of the UK Album Charts; hitting the Top 20, at number 17, following massive performances at Glastonbury and TRNSMT Festival. Between the Gold-certified album (120,000+ sales) and his recent single ‘Canter’, Gerry has accumulated over 110 million streams at Spotify alone – with his YouTube channel adding another 10 million views to that figure. It’s a following that translates to his live show. His upcoming UK and Ireland arena tour continues his legacy of sold-out shows; with over 115,000 tickets gone within hours of going on-sale. His sold-out 15,000 capacity Aberdeen show will break the record for the BIGGEST EVER indoor show in Scotland.

Most impressively of all, he’s achieved all of that entirely independently. And yet Gerry Cinnamon’s appeal is simple to explain. His anthemic tracks tell hugely relatable stories that resonate with fans’ own experiences. To date, he’s largely bypassed traditional media in favour of connecting directly with fans via social media. But there’s an old school word-of-mouth aspect at play too – fans are passionate enough about Gerry that their enthusiasm inspires new fans too.

Now Gerry Cinnamon’s upwards momentum continues with the release of his new single Sun Queen.

Poised to be his biggest crossover moment to date and a leap forward from his debut album, ‘Sun Queen’ exudes the traits that have earned Gerry his phenomenal status.  The melody is strident and direct, and sure to be a huge sing-a-long moment of his future live shows. Gerry’s lyrics express universal feelings of love alongside precise observations that can only be drawn from his own experiences. As the song’s most striking line states, “Faded memories of a young team, like an echo of an old dream, I carved her name into a sun beam.”

“Sun queen is a juxtaposition between two narratives. The verses and the chorus. The verses are about the chaos that’s been happening and the chorus is about the only thing I really care about.” says Gerry.

Now available for streaming and download, ‘Sun Queen’ is also available on orange 10” vinyl. The vinyl format features ‘Canter’ on the b-side and is available from Gerry’s official shop.

2019 has already seen Gerry Cinnamon awarded 'Best Live Act' at the Association of Independent Music Awards, after smashing a number of big UK and European festival appearances this summer; co-headlining TRNSMT Festival with Stormzy and packing out Glastonbury Festival’s John Peel Tent – and surrounding area!
