Fickle Friends return with brand new single ‘Amateurs’

Intimate shows announced for December 2019

Fickle Friends are back with the first taste of music from their forthcoming second record due for release next year. ‘Amateurs’ is the brand-new single released today on Cooking Vinyl comes hand in hand with a fresh set of UK tour dates.

Fickle Friends are one of the UK’s most consistent and focused DIY bands, with their hard work paying off when their debut album made the Top 10 on release in 2018. A few months later, they headlined a sold-out Shepherds Bush Empire in London, marking the culmination of many years spent on the road together since they all first met in Brighton.

Since they walked off that stage nearly a year ago to date, Fickle Friends’ attention has been firmly fixed on their next record and ‘Amateurs’ marks the start of the next phase for the well-loved British pop band. A bright and brilliant exploration of the beginnings of a relationship, the new single marks a familiar but adventurous shift in sound for the band who have taken back the reigns of and mastered their own production and are sounding even better for it.

As Natti explains: “’Amateurs’ came about because we were trying to think outside the (Fickle Friends) box. The song is about being in a relationship for which you feel unequipped, and realising it isn't worth sticking it out for the sake of not being "alone" in a society that views being unattached as a sign of inadequacy."

Always keen to play new music live, Fickle Friends are returning to the road to try out the new tracks with their fans. They will embark on a run of intimate UK dates on the 2nd December in Birmingham, and reach London’s Omeara on the 9th. See full dates below.
