Badly Drawn Boy 'I Need Someone To Trust' out now

New album 'Banana Skin Shoes' out May 22nd

Badly Drawn Boy, aka Damon Gough, has announced that he will release a new single through AWAL.

Spiritually salvation-seeking, 'I Need Someone to Trust' is joyous and gloriously up lifting pop music - Gough explains:  “It’s a song about redefining yourself after experiencing some heavy blows in life and restoring some pride”

“I lost control of part of my Soul, Bring it back, make it Whole”

“and with newfound strength, the ability to offer guidance/help to those you love“

“where the river bends you know that you’re bound to fall in... well if this should happen, keep a grip of my hand”

The follow up to the recent ‘I Just Wanna Wish You Happiness’, the new single will be available digitally via all the major outlets and is the latest track to be shared from his forthcoming album ‘Banana Skin Shoes’ which is set to arrive on the 22nd of May.

The new album sees Damon pushing forward yet again both musically and lyrically whilst retaining some of his classic trademarks. The bulk of the production was completed at Eve Studios in Stockport last year with producer Gethin Pearson (Kele Okereke, JAWS) who also mixed the whole record. Damon had previously worked on tracks for the album with legendary producer Youth (The Verve, Paul McCartney) at his studio in London, Keir Stewart (ex-Durutti Column) at Inch Studios and Seadna McPhail at Airtight Studios.

Always one to wear his heart on his sleeve, Gough’s ninth album and first studio album in a decade is a truly personal and heartfelt collection of songs, a huge statement of intent and the most colourful warming and honest pop record you’ll probably hear all year.
