Banner is a songwriter who is born and raised in The Hague. He is a self-taught musician since he started playing guitar at the age of fourteen. His songwriting career began when he was eighteen and currently, he is studying vocals at the Herman Brood Academy in Utrecht. His music can be described as indie folk or indie pop. Also his music contains creative guitar fingerpicking.

Organic and lively songs interlaced with creative fingerpicking are the trademark of songwriter Banner. He writes atmospheric pieces of music that convey a deeper meaning within their universal message. The topics range from relationships between people and his own psychological state, all the way to daily life itself. His debut EP ‘Over Blue’ has garnered more than 750,000 streams on Spotify alone, and all the 3 singles have been curated into the Dutch New Music Friday playlists. Since the release in April of 2017 the songs have been played live over 50 times, in The Netherlands as well as Germany, with band as well as solo. Vulnerably and intimately he strips the songs back to their essence during his solo shows. In contrast, the band shows fill the room with spacious and bombastic songs but at times form an infinitesimal and quiet musical landscape where the tension is palpable in the air.

The music is reminiscent of greater heroes such as Nick Mulvey, Ben Howard, Fink and John Martyn. He has done solo support slots for sold out shows such as Newton Faulkner and Rhys Lewis. In February of 2018 he went on tour in The Netherlands with Tame Impala drummer Julien Barbagallo.
